Being originally from Terre Haute, I know that one of the big issues facing midwestern states is how to keep graduate students from moving to the coasts. Although many federal agencies have telework programs, current OPM regulations require that the agency pay travel expenses if the employee has a duty station elsewhere, and does not check in to the agency office one a week. If the OPM would allow telework employees to waive this requirement, they could work anywhere in the country, and not be stuck in the DC metro area. I'd rather be back home in the Hoosier State! Can you help?

Alternate Reality
The republican party is pinning their hopes of winning the upcoming elections on creating an alternate reality. This alternate reality is based on 95% lies and when necessary the twisted truth.
Alternate Reality — All Americans are better off because of the Bush economic policies.
Real World — The working Americans have stagnating wages, canceled 401k matching contributions, rising heath care insurance costs and Christmas layoffs. Working Americans ready to retire can’t do it because of the rising cost of health insurance.
Alternate Reality — The economy is roaring and is not being reported on because of a left wing conspiracy.
Real World — The economy is being reported on all day long at 780 WBBM on the AM radio by Non-Partisan Financial Professionals from all over the nation.
Real World – All of them agree that we are headed into a down turn in the economy.
Real World – Opinions of how serious the down turn will be are widely varied from just a soft landing to a hard landing to a disaster in waiting due to the higher than ever before national debt and individuals that have negative net worth due to lax lending rules and the downturn in the Real Estate market.
Alternate Reality – The Stock Market is a an all time high.
Real World – The DOW is not the stock market. The total stock market is not at an all time high. The increase in the DOW does not represent a healthy economy but rather it is a flight to safety.
Alternate Reality – The unemployment rate is 4.6%.
Real World – The real employment rate is 7% to 8% according to credible sources.
Alternate Reality – Unlimited out sourcing is good for America.
Real World – We are limiting our abilities to defend ourselves, as reported on the a recent article in the Star, by exporting too much production capability and diminishing the development of domestic skilled labor and management.
Alternate Reality — Every new elected republican can reduce taxes again and it will be good for America.
Real World — Not true. If it were true then why not a negative tax rate?
Alternate Reality – A $237 billion dollar deficit is good for the economy. The deficit is the same as the debt.
Real World — Not true. It is always better to pay as you go and what better time when the congress and Presidency are in control of the “Conservative Republicans”. The debt is $8.5 Trillion.
We have the bravest and most skilled troops in history defending us. We need to send George Bush the message the we won’t put up with destroying the U.S. economy so there will be some thing left when the troops return. If a high quality Democrat is not available to vote for then vote republican but more importantly, reject the Alternate Reality and let your congressman know with a letter.

Sen Bayh,
In order to weed out pork barrel spending, will you support and demand single subject Legistation, a bill that will help eliminate the paybacks you poliiticians are subject to for campaign finance?

Dear Senator Bayh, I am a resident of the State of Indiana and mother of 3 children. We recently moved and have no medical insurance due to the waiting period at my new position. Do you have a plan for making medical insurance available to people like me or work to reduce medical cost so when someone has a period of time without insurance they don't have to worry about not being able to seek medical care?

Senator, What do you think of Bill Richardson as your VP, this would allow you to make headway in the west, as well as your strength in the Mid-West.
