What is a 401k (for job interview)?

I have an interview for a new job tomorrow and I'm doing some research about the company.
The company discription says
“PAi, located in De Pere, Wisconsin, provides business services to the financial services industry with 401(k) administration and payroll solutions tailored for small businesses.”

Can someone put this into laymans terms for me????

    The company manages human resource benefit programs for small businesses that do not have, or do not wish to have a department that handles this in-house.
    Therefore, this company uses it's expertise to provide retirement programs (401K is a retirement program), insurance programs, and probably a bevy of other services.
